Position Title: Project Officer (Cash-Based Interventions, Protection and Referrals for cases affected by the earthquake)

Duty Station: Mardin - Turkey

Classification: 6 Months Fixed Term Contract (with possible extension)

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative and basic technical support to the project, utilizing cash modalities in line with recovery and stabilization Cash Based Interventions (CBI).

  2. Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of project activities in relation to CBI.

  3. Perform mapping according to the needs of beneficiaries and the project requirements in case of protection assistance of the project objectives.

  4. Support the set-up of databases to track beneficiary assistance and share information with other organizations operating in the same geographical areas, avoid duplication and maximize outreach and coverage of affected populations’ needs.

  5. Ensure that all project data is uploaded to the Protection Project and conduct ongoing analysis on issues that may impact the protection on refugees and locals affected by the earthquake, share information with other organizations operating in the same geographical areas, avoid duplication and coverage of affected populations’ needs.

  6. Retrieve, compile, summarize and present information and data related to CBI in Mardin and prepare and update reports, as needed.

  7. Coordinate and monitor day-to day implementation of projects in close coordination of the Head of Project.

  8. Coordinate administrative tasks in the project implementation including filing, preparing purchase and payment requests, following up of delivery and progress of activities and preforming other financial activities in coordination with procurement, resource and management units.

  9. Conduct regular meetings with the team due to the workplan, discuss progress, give technical advice and provide orientation to the project assistants.

  10. Coordinate the project agreements, planning activities and submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports with the organization that is the project coordinator.

  11. Ensure that all data is uploaded to the Protection Project and conduct ongoing analysis on issues that may impact the protection on refugees and locals affected by the earthquake, highlighting the specific protection of needs of women and men, children, youth and older persons, persons with disabilities and marginalized groups.

  12. Support participation in Cash Working Group or other CBI-related meetings, workshops and forums and assist in coordinating activities with local authorities, agencies, national and international organizations and other stakeholders. 

  • Required Qualifications:

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Political Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience

    Experience:

  • Experience working in humanitarian settings.

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in cash-based programming.

  • Experience liaising with governmental authorities, other national and international institutions and NGOs, and building effective local partnerships including with the private sector.

  • Experience with databases, assessment tools and reporting.

  • Knowledge of the fundaments of CBI.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with partners and donors.

  • Computer literacy, including in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as KoBo Toolbox and report writing.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.

     

    Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Turkish is required.

  • Working knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
